The app
Road Signs explains road signs from 15 countries in 15 languages. It is made by an independent developer (“we”). By using the app you agree to these terms.
Not legal advice
The explanations are plain-language summaries of each country's regulations. They are not legal advice and may contain mistakes. You are responsible for how you drive. Always follow the signs on the road and the official traffic rules, even where the app says something different. Do not use the app while driving.
The purchase
Warning and priority signs are free. The other signs, quizzes and AI photo matching are unlocked with a single purchase through the App Store or Google Play, under their terms; for apps from the App Store, Apple's standard licence agreement for apps applies. There is no subscription. Refunds are requested from Apple or Google. You can restore the purchase on another device with the same store account.
AI photo matching
The unlock includes up to 10 successful AI matches a day; a search that finds no sign does not count. AI matching depends on an outside service and may sometimes be unavailable, for example during an outage; guided matching keeps working. A match is a suggestion: check it against the sign.
Fair use
Use our server only through the app. Do not try to get around the daily limit or the unlock, or send it automated requests.
Sign images and texts
Each sign image belongs to its author and is used under the licence shown on the Credits and licences page. The explanations, translations and the app itself are ours.
Our responsibility
We are fully responsible for harm we cause on purpose or through gross carelessness, and for injury to life or health. For minor mistakes we are responsible only if they concern what the app is essentially for, and only for the kind of damage you would normally expect.
Law and changes
German law applies; if you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of the country you live in remain. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version.
