Privacy
In short
Road Signs collects no personal data. There is no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your language, country, home country, appearance, favourites, progress, achievements and reminder time are stored on your phone only, and removing the app removes them.
The app sends something only when you ask it to. What it sends, and what happens to it, is below.
Reports of a mistake
When you report a mistake, the app sends the sign, your language, the catalogue version, the category you chose and your note to our server in the EU. Nothing else: no name, no account, no device identifier. We keep reports to correct the catalogue.
To stop abuse, the server counts how many reports one connection sends in a day. It does not keep your IP address, and the count is deleted after two days.
AI photo matching
AI photo matching is part of the unlock, and the app asks before your first AI match. Only the area of the photo you crop is sent, to our server in the EU and from there to an AI service outside the EU, which identifies the sign. We never store the photo. The AI service deletes it within 30 days and does not use it to train its models.
With the photo, the app sends the store's proof of your purchase so that the server can check the unlock with the store. The server keeps the store's answer about your purchase for one day, and the number of matches used that day for two days. You can withdraw your consent in Settings › Privacy. Guided matching never sends your photo anywhere: it works offline, on your phone.
Purchases
The one-time purchase is made through the App Store or Google Play. We receive no payment details and no name; Apple and Google process the payment under their own privacy policies.
Reminders
The daily reminder is a notification your phone schedules itself. Nothing is sent to us or to any other service to deliver it.
This website
This website sets no cookies, has no analytics and loads nothing from other services. Our hosting provider needs your IP address to send you the pages; we keep no record of visits.
If you write to us, your message is received by our mail server in the EU, kept there for up to 30 days, and forwarded to our inbox, where we keep it as long as we need to answer you.

We rely on your consent for AI photo matching, on providing what you bought for the purchase check, and on our legitimate interest in running the app and answering you for reports, limits, this website and email.
Your rights
As we keep nothing that identifies you, there is usually nothing about you for us to find. You can still ask what we hold, have it corrected or deleted, object to its use or withdraw a consent, and complain to a data protection authority. Write to hello@roadsigns.app.
